The First International Sports Law Congress in Iran was held by Kianoyan Mehr Iranian Company in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee and with the presence of the International Association of Women Sports Lawyers (Wislaw) in Tehran in January 2018. This congress was held with the aim of familiarizing managers, coaches and athletes with sports law and reviewing the latest developments in this field.

Sports law is a set of laws, regulations and principles that apply to all individuals and institutions involved in the sports industry, including athletes, coaches, clubs, federations and spectators, and pursues goals such as specifying legal rights and obligations, resolving sports disputes, and increasing legal awareness. This field includes private international law, international trade law, and contract law and examines violations in sports.

WISLA Women are female sports lawyers from around the world who work in the Wisla International Association, registered in Switzerland in 2016. The association was formed with the aim of promoting and developing sports law internationally.

In order to hold the first International Sports Law Congress in Iran, Kianoyan Mehr Iranian Company organized 7 workshops, including:

•        Workshop on the Dispute Resolution System in FIFA presented by Melanie Scherer (Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Women Sports Lawyers and Founder of MS International LAQ)

•        Workshop on Football Dispute Resolution in Iran presented by Dr. Mehrad Mohammadi (Member of the Football Status Committee of the Iranian Football Federation)

•        Panel on Sports and Human Rights presented by Professor Noray Aksi (Member of the Association of Women Sports Lawyers and Professor of YEDITEPE University)

•        Panel on Combating Doping presented by Valerie Horina (Senior Advisor to the World Hockey Federation and Member of WISLAW)

•        Panel on the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) presented by Andre Zimmermann (Legal Advisor to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and Member of the Board of Directors of WISLAW)

•        Panel on Media and Sports Law presented by Brigitte Prezferi (Member of the Swiss Women's Law Association and Member of WISLAW)

•        Panel on Good Governance in Sports Organizations presented by Valerie Horina (Senior Advisor to the International Hockey Federation and Member of the WISLAW) World Hockey Federation and WISLAW member)

Finally, international certificates from the National Olympic Committee and WISLAW were issued to the participants of these workshops. The International Sports Law Congress in Iran was widely welcomed by companies active in this field, and the workshops held by Kianoyan Mehr Iranian Company were useful.
