UNWTO Hamedan Summit
The UNWTO Summit, now known as the "World Tourism Organization" or UN Tourism, is a gathering of policymakers, experts and enthusiasts of the tourism industry at the international level, which is held to discuss and exchange views on key issues, policy-making and development of this industry. This organization is a subsidiary of the United Nations based in Madrid, Spain, and its main task is to guide and policy-making in the field of global tourism. This summit is an important event for shaping the future of tourism at the global level and helps strengthen cooperation and progress in this industry.

On November 11-12, 2018, Hamedan hosted the UNWTO World Tourism Organization's periodic summit. The summit was hosted by Iran for the first time after 40 years of its establishment. The meeting was attended by guests from Afghanistan, Iraq, Cambodia, Azerbaijan, Japan, Georgia, Vietnam, South Korea, Philippines, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Spain and the Secretary General of ACD. Kianouyan Mehr Iranian Company participated in this meeting as per the procedure of attending tourism meetings and hosted the guests of the UNWTO Hamedan meeting in its booth. On the sidelines of this meeting, Kianoyan Mehr Iranian Company held tourism workshops with the presence of Professor Muhammad Badruddin, a professor at USM University, Malaysia.

At the 40th World Summit of the World Tourism Organization’s Affiliated Members, Kianoyan Mehr Iranian Company organized 4 tourism panels and workshops. The topics of these panels are as follows:
• Specialized panel on regional marketing development using regional tourism: facilitated by Professor Mohammad Badruddin, a university professor and the father of tourism in Malaysia
• Specialized panel on regional marketing development using e-tourism: facilitated by Professor Mohammad Badruddin, a university professor and the father of tourism in Malaysia
• Specialized panel on the characteristics of a successful tourist-friendly city presenting the Penang model in Malaysia: facilitated by Professor Mohammad Badruddin, a university professor and the father of tourism in Malaysia
• Workshop on Malaysia’s successful experiences in developing cultural tourism with the presence of Professor Mohammad Badruddin

At the end of these panels, official certificates of participation in the workshop were awarded to the participants. The UNWTO Hamedan Summit was widely welcomed by companies active in the field of health tourism, and the panels organized by Kianoyan Mehr Iranian Company were used.
